Project-based employment opportunity for professionals in Flood Risk Assessment Unit (FRAU)
Punjab Irrigation Department, Lahore
Irrigation Department invites applications from suitable candidates who possess qualification mentioned against each post for the following positions:-

1. Chief (FRAU) (1 post) (Age limit 45-55 years) Pay Rs.195,000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-20 + Project allowance of Rs. 80000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer)

Qualification: Master’s degree (2nd Division) in Water Resources Engineering/ Hydraulic Engineering/ Irrigation Engineering and Master in Computer Science / Information Technology from a recognized university.
Experience: 20 year experience in line worked on development/management of Irrigation System in senior position, knowledge of GIS, surface and groundwater models, experience of flood management and have knowledge of flood routing models, knowledge of Decision Support System (DSS), knowledge of water resource management information system. In case of selection of departmental officer, his appointment will be made by transfer.


2. Director Flood Warning (1 posts) (Age limit 40-50 years) Pay Rs. 160000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-19 + Project allowance of Rs. 60000/- PM (in case of appointment by transfer)

Qualification: Master’s degree (2nd Division) in Water Resources Engineering/ Hydraulic Engineering/ Irrigation Engineering and Master in Computer Science Information Technology from a recognized university.
Experience: 10 years post B.Sc experience of handling flood routing models including HECRAS etc. and flood management, worked on development/management of irrigation System, knowledge of GIS, surface and groundwater models, knowledge of Decision Support System (DSS), knowledge of water resource management information system. In case of selection of departmental officer, his appointment will be made by transfer.

3. Deputy Director Meteorology (1 post) (Age limit 30-45 years) Pay Rs. 120000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-18 + Project allowance of Rs.50000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer) Qualification: Master’s degree (2nd Division) in Metrology from a recognized university.
Experience: 5 year experience of handling numerical models or statistical models etc.

4. Deputy Director Hydrology (1 post) (Age limit 30-45 years) Pay Rs. 120000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-18 + Project allowance of Rs.50000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer) Qualification: Master’s Degree (2nd Division) in Water Resources Engg./ Hydraulics Engg. / Irrigation Engg./ Hydrology from a recognized university. Experience: 5 years post B.Sc Civil Engineering experience in Hydrological modeling.

5. Deputy Director Remote Sensing/GIS (1 post) (Age limit 30-45 years) Pay Rs. 120000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-18 + Project allowance of Rs.50000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer). Qualification: Master;s Degree (2nd Division) in GIS/ Remote Sensing/ Geomatics from a recognized university. Experience: 5 years in application of GIS in water sector projects, experience of ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop) and ArcGIS Server, proficient in using ESRI ArcMap, ArcCatalog with 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst Extensions, experience of handling GIS data layers, attribute data in ArcMap, making spatial queries and analysis on MrcMap, creating GIS reports in MrcMap environment, creating thematic maps from layer symbology and updating satellite imagery from free public domain (Landsat and Google Earth), experience of management of Web GIS Services, ability to grasp new domain of business, Windows 2008/12 R2, Adobe Flex based Client Viewer Application, REDAS and ENVI


6. Deputy Director Flood Routing (Age limit 30-45 years) (1 post) Pay Rs. 120000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-18 + Project allowance of Rs.50000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer). Qualification: Master’s Degree (2nd Division) in Water Resources Engg./ River Engg Water Engg./ Water Resources Management/ Engg Hydrology from a recognized university having B.Sc Civil Engineering as basic qualification. Experience: 5 years post B.Sc Engineering experience in application river modelling and flood routing/management models.


7. Assistant Director Water Resource Management (1 post) (Age limit 25-35 years) Pay Rs.66000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-17 + Project allowance of Rs. 40000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer) Qualification:. B.Sc Civil Engg. (2nd Division) from a recognized University Experience: 2 year experience in Hydrological modeling


8. Assistant Director Forecasting (1 post) (Age limit 25-35 years) Pay Rs.66000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-17 + Project allowance of Rs. 40000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer)

Qualification: Master’s degree (2nd Division) in Mathematics/ Environmental Sciences/ applied mathematics/ physics from a recognized university. Experience: 2 year experience in application of river modeling/ flood routing/ management models.

9. Assistant Director GIS (1 post) (Age limit 25-35 years) Pay Rs. 66000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-17 + Project allowance of Rs. 40000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer)

Qualification: B.Sc Civil Engg. (2nd Division) from a recognized University.
Experience: 2 year experience in application river modeling and flood routing/management models.


11. Experience: 2 years post B.Sc Engineering experience in application of River Modeling and Flood Routing/Management Models is required.


 14. Assistant Director Space Science (01 Post) (Age limit 25-35 years) ) Pay Rs. 66000/- per month (in case of contract employee) or BS-17 + Project allowance of Rs. 40000/- per month (in case of appointment by transfer)
Qualification: Mater’s Degree (2nd Division) in Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences/ B.Sc Space Science (2nd Division) from a recognized university. Experience: 2 years post B.Sc experience in space science field is required.


15. Office Manager (01 Post) (Age limit 30-40 years) Pay Rs.66000/- per month (Lump sum)
Qualification: Master’s Degree (2nd Division) in M.B.A, M.P.A from a recognized University/ Institute
Experience: 5 year experience in private/ public organization, possess analytical skills and proficiency in operating MS office package and possess quality of troubleshooting the common problems generally faced in a fast tracked operating organization. In case of selection of departmental officer, his appointment will be made by transfer.

 16. Accounts Officer (1 Post) (Age limit 30-40 years) Pay Rs. 66000/- per month (Lump sum) Qualification: Master’s Degree (2nd Division) in Banking & Finance/ Masters in Commerce (M.Com)/ Masters in Business Administration (Finance)/ BBA (Finance) from a recognized University. Experience: 5 year experience of preparing / maintaining of accounts in private / public organization, well aware of Accounting Standards of Budget & Accounts, experience of handling Departmental Accounts procedure & AG office procedures and knowledge of accounts related software e.g. Peach Tree Accounting Software.

17. Accounts Assistant (1 Post) (Age limit 22-30 years) Pay Rs. 32000/- per month (Lump sum) Qualification: B.Com / BBA (2nd Division) from a recognized university. Experience: 2 year experience in Office Documentation / File management.

18. Office Assistant (01 Post) (Age limit 25-30 years) Pay Rs.32000/- per month (Lump sum)
Qualification: Intermediate or equivalent (2nd Division) from a recognized Board. Experience: 01 year experience as computer operator / file management and excellent command in MS Office package.

19. Computer Operators (02 Posts) (Age limit 22-30 years) Pay Rs.32000/- per month (Lump sum) Qualification: Intermediate in Computer Science (ICS) or equivalent (2nd Division) from a recognized Board. Experience: 2 year experience as Data entry/computer operator and excellent command in MS Office.


20. Driver (06 Posts) (Age limit 25-35 years) Pay Rs.19000/- per month (Lump sum)
Qualification: Middle Experience: 2 year experience in driving with Valid LTV driving license and well versed in the traffic rules, able to drive different vehicles, able to work under pressure and for long duty hours and willing to move in field especially in remote areas.
